Cape Town is located on a peninsular which juts out, which is the Cape of Good Hope where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.
It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with the magnificent Table Mountain and an amazing varied coastline with pure white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
There is a cosmopolitan atmosphere created by the Dutch, British and Malay influence which is reflected in the culture and the cuisine of the thriving restaurant industry.
The lively V&A Waterfront, is a modern harbor complex, filled with designer shops, arts, crafts, bars, restaurants and fast food places, very pretty and safe to walk around. It is relatively inexpensive to eat out due to the good exchange rate, and the people are totally focused on providing a high standard of service.
Another place in the city worth mentioning is Waterkant – a fast growing part of the city - with its picturesque cottages, shops and cafes - that makes one think of SOHO in New York.
Cape Town has a host of well preserved historical buildings, such as the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa dating back to 1679, and on the outskirts there are many scenic drives, beaches and vineyards to explore...
